Or maybe I should just return it and look for something else? One thing I am considering is a controller that would kill power delivery to the fan hub below certain temp.

I am looking for advice on how I can make this case silent at idle. Thing is that half of its price are the fans, so replacing them is not really an option. I know being quiet is not the point of this case, but if the fans were better it could absolutely be. But at min speed they are clearly audible and make annoying sound rather than what the CPU cooler sounds like. I unplugged them and the PC went completely silent. You can't turn them off (if you set speed to 0% they still run at minimum).

NH-D15 is very quiet, PSU and GPU semi-passively cooled, no water pump or HDD and fortunately no coil whine, so the only source of noise at idle are the case fans. I know the case is an overkill for the CPU+GPU, but I want it to last several builds. I use stock case fans.
